    DATE: 29th June 2018
    TIME: 20:0022:00

    Description:

Sarah Smout and Sophie Ramsay are travelling  to Iceland and play in different staging post on there way.

The purpose of this journey is to create a unique representation of the connections that still exist with the landscape.

We will do this by collaborating with local musicians, collecting memories and stories from people, recording sounds and images, and all via land and sea, including a sail boat from Shetland to the Faroes.

This will form material for an exploratory body of work - a sound-map of our journey - which will give a visceral and tangible quality to the distances we travel, illuminating those connections to landscape that can often be so fragmented and confused in today's climatically altered and industrialised planet. This sound-map will then be created into a multi-sensory album and show, involving sound-scapes, spoken word, songs, and images of the places and people we learnt from over the course of the voyage.
